Description
Participants will use the Microsoft MakeCode platform for block based coding and the BBC micro:bit microcontroller to learn about coding and programming as well as inputs and outputs. Participants will code and learn to make practical projects including step counters, nightlights, and games.
Participants will learn how we can monitor our use of energy and use this to make decisions about how we can save energy, save money and have a positive impact on climate change. They will use micro:bits to learn how to monitor electric light use, learn about how to collect good data and present it in order to help inform decisions about changing behaviours.
Due to the duration length of this program, participants under ten (10) years of age do not need to be accompanied in the program. However, parents/guardians are expected to remain at the program location for its duration in the event their immediate assistance is required.
