Description
The course will provide registrants with the knowledge to respond to emergencies in the home, community or workplace. A variety of topics are covered: how to access the EMS system; recognize and respond to airway, breathing and cardiovascular emergencies; bone, muscle, joint, head and spinal injuries; bleeding and shock; first aid for poisonings; environmental emergencies; and CPR/AED.
Blended Learning: combines online learning and in-person skills session. Registration cut off is one week prior to the in-class date. Candidates must have a valid email address to register and provide when registering. This comprehensive 15.5 hour course is comprised of an 8-hour online study session and a 7 hour in class skills evaluation session. The online portion of this program must be completed before the in-class portion.
Awards are issued to the candidate electronically through email. Certification of this award is for 3 years.
