Description
Coast Riders enjoy cycling throughout the North Shore and Vancouver on Wednesday mornings, starting at 9:00 am. Scheduled rides are April - October. Ride routes vary from 30-50+km, with the distance increasing as the season progresses. Most of the rides will begin at Ambleside Park but sometimes there is a drive to ride option. There is also the option of arranging to meet the group en route. The average pace of each ride is about 15-18 km/hr and each route takes about 3-4 hours to complete. Ride details are published weekly on the club website.
Rides are social with an emphasis on safe cycling on roads, bike paths, and bridge crossings. An important part of our ride includes a favorite stop for coffee!
It's important to note that Coast Rider leaders are volunteers. WVSAC offers safety training as well as ride leader training. It is the hope that the club members will either train to lead or will volunteer in another capacity.
Helmets, spare tubes and pump are mandatory; light, bell and mirror are recommended.
