Description

This class provides a comprehensive introduction to the foundations of painting, designed for beginners and those looking to strengthen their skills. Participants will explore a variety of painting techniques including brushwork, layering, and blending, while developing an understanding of composition, colour theory, contrast, light and shadow, and form. Lessons will be enriched with discussions of key moments in art history, connecting practice with context and inspiration. Through hands-on projects and guided instruction, participants will build confidence in their creative choices and grow their ability to express ideas visually.

Come ready with your own material:
- Acrylic paint primary colours + black and white
- Canvas pad 8 1/2 x 11 or 9 x 12
- 2 flat brushes (1 small, 1 large)
- 1 small round brush
