The sky’s the limit for the Oradaca Hawks! With your nature specialist leading the way, you’ll explore scenic trails, identify wildlife and practice real outdoor techniques like knot tying, fire building and outdoor cooking. You’ll tackle nature trail biking, orienteering, wilderness survival skills and eco challenges that test both mind and teamwork. Your overnight campout is the ultimate experience and together with your fellow Hawks you’ll prepare your own campsite, share stories around the fire and wake to the sound of the forest coming alive. You’ll leave Camp Oradaca with memories and confidence, because this is where adventurers become leaders. Note: Campers are required to bring their own bicycles on the first day and they will be stored onsite for the duration of the camp. Oradaca is an outdoor program and campers 'weather' the elements. However, if inclement weather compromises campers' safety or negatively impacts the quality of programming, the camp may temporarily be relocated indoors to Al Palladini Community Centre. In these rare circumstances, parents/guardians will be notified prior to the start of the camp day to drop-off their child at the community centre. The overnight experience takes place on Thursday during the second week of each session. Overnight programming may be cancelled at any time. Due to safety reasons, campers who receive support during the day are required to be accompanied by their support worker (see eligibility criteria) for the overnight experience or may stay for the barbecue, night hike and campfire before being picked up and may return for breakfast. The camp day is 8:30am to 4:30pm. Camp programming runs from 9am to 4pm. Before & After Care is not available for camps located at heritage homes, parks, Vaughan Studios & Event Space, the City Playhouse Theatre, or for any half-day camp.
