Skating - Preschool Level 4

Preschool 4:

Students must be able to:
Skate forwards across the rink alternating feet
Backward skating across the rink (any style)
Glide on 2 feet for 2-3 metres
Double sculling (5 consecutive)
Snowplow stop (any style)
Side stepping
Skate a slalom course
Glide on one foot for 1/2 a metre (left and right)

***Skate rentals are available for purchase at an additional cost.***

1) Please bring your previous report card with you to the first class

2) Please arrive early so that you have time to put on your skates.

3) Skate rentals are available; tickets must be purchased at the Arena

4) CSA Hockey helmets are required; Snow Board helmets are allowed but not recommended. Bike and Skate Board helmets are not allowed.

A limited number of hockey helmets are available free of charge for lesson registrants at Park Board rinks.

5) Please dress warmly (gloves or mittens, ski pants, winter jacket etc..)

6) Parent/guardians are not allowed on the ice during skating lessons, and are required to stay in the arena in case of emergency.

7) Register ONLY in the recommended level and age group indicated on your most recent report card or on your on-ice assessments.

Students will not be transferred and will be asked to withdraw from the program if they are not registered in the appropriate level.

NOTE: The nature of the activity is such that you may interact with other people who are considered to be in good health, continuous physical distance between other people cannot be guaranteed, and, by participating in the activity, you are at risk of being infected by a pathogen, including but not limited to SARS-COV-2. SARS-COV-2, which causes the disease COVID-19, may exacerbate other health issues and is the cause of an ongoing global pandemic. SARS-COV-2 is highly communicable and dangerous. If you become infected with SARS-COV2, you may transmit it to other people even if you are not exhibiting symptoms of illness.
