strong correlation between chess and academic achievement including math,
spatial analysis and non-verbal reasoning ability. Chess allows
kids to connect with something in the real world which in turn, fires up their
desire to learn. Joining in this
Sherlock-Holmes-world of tactics and strategies, where the chessmen become
personified, kids, garbed with a ‘commander’ (leader) self-image, get trained
in life-skills goal-setting: checkmate!
Open to anyone new or with limited knowledge of chess-art
basics: moves, captures, castling, checkmates, special moves, notation, etc.
