Description

Important: This is not a camp registration. This form is only to request a 1:1 Support Worker. If you have not registered for a week of Supported Day Camp, your request will be removed. Registration Closes May 31st, 2026

This registration option is for children who require dedicated 1:1 support in order to participate in a Supported Recreation Day Camp.

Eligibility

Registration is only available to participants who have been pre approved and hold an Adapted Recreation Pass. To learn more or to apply for a Recreation Support Plan, please contact access.services@vancouver.ca or call 604 718 8270.

How Registration Works
This activity is used to request an Access Services 1:1 Worker for your camper based on their individual support needs.
You must register for both:
o The week of camp your child will attend, and
o The matching week of 1:1 Support
Example: If your camper is registered for Renfrew Day Camp – July 20–24, you must also register for 1:1 Support – July 20–24.

What 1:1 Support Provides
With dedicated support, campers can participate in a wide range of activities at their own pace, including arts and crafts, outdoor games, sensory play, nature exploration, group activities, and social experiences.

Role of the Access Services 1:1 Worker
Access Services 1:1 Workers work with Camp Leaders to help create an inclusive, supportive environment. Their role includes:
Providing direct supervision
Assisting with behaviour support and transitions
Adapting activities to meet individual needs
Encouraging independence and participation

IMPORTANT NOTES, PLEASE READ:
• Support is limited to a maximum of two weeks per child for the summer.
Personal care cannot be provided by Access Services Support Staff. This includes toileting support, lifts, transfers, dressing, and any other hands on personal care needs.
If your camper requires this level of support, a private 1:1 support person must attend the program with them. The private support person must:
Be 19 years of age or older
Provide an original, successful Police Information Check completed within the past 6 months
Be listed on the camper’s waiver as a “guardian” so they can sign the camper in and out of camp as needed
• Once your registration is complete, please notify us if you will be providing a private 1:1 support worker by emailing access.services@vancouver.ca.
