Description

Prerequisite: At least 8 years of age, proof successful completion of the skills in Red Cross Swim Kids Level 8, or Lifesaving Society Swimmer 6, or equivalent swim assessment. Recommended that candidates are able to swim 100 m and tread water for 1 minute

In this level

This is a module based program. Core skills learned in this level are water safety, recognition of swimmers of all types in distress and how to rescue them, assessment and treatment of a conscious choking patient, Stroke evaluation and development to be able to swim 200m in 6 minutes, and development of a lifesaving kick to be able to support a 2.3kg (5lb) object at the surface for 1 minute
