Participants
This program is for teens, adults and seniors, 13 years & up, who are Two Spirit, Trans, and Gender Diverse people (2STGD).
People 13+ outside that description are welcome if they are anchoring the attendance of a 2STGD participant.
No experience required, beginners welcome.
Program Overview
Workouts are circuit-style and multiple stations will be set up around the room. Free weights, mats, kettlebells, and other equipment are provided.

Program Leader
Weekly workouts are led by Chanel Bode (they/them), a BCRPA certified weight training instructor and personal trainer. Dedicated to being the Ultimate Hype Person, they reject appearance-based fitness culture and aim to empower participants to enjoy whatever movement looks like for them.
Plan Ahead
On arrival, check in at the front desk and receive a token or clip from the staff. Pass this token to Queer Inclusion staff at their info table, or to the instructor in the program space.Personal belongings can be brought inside the room and left near the coat rack.Do not bring anything scented (body products, clothing with residue from scented laundry products)Exercise equipment including spin bikes, mats, dumbells, and a TRX system are provided. A water fountain is located just outside the room.Our space will have bright overhead lighting that is dimmed for low-sensory sessions.Ground floor washrooms are binary with "gender diverse people welcome" signage. A single-user washroom is available on the second floor beside the binary washrooms, accessed by stairs or elevator (requires cashiers to swipe for access)Ground floor access is level, no stairs. Underground parking accesses ground floor by elevator or stairs.
Program Specifics
This program is weekly on Mondays at 7:15-8:15 PM in a multipurpose room on the ground floor. Please aim to arrive by 7:10 PM so the instructor can set up the correct number of stations for the circuit, and get the workout underway at 7:15 PM.No Show Policy: If the session is full, any registered person who has not checked in with the front desk by 7:15 PM will be marked as a no-show and have their spot made available for drop-in participants. After 3 "no-shows" in one season, you will be asked to only register on the morning of the date you wish to attend, or do drop-ins. This program is located in central Vancouver. Exact location details are shared with 2STGD people, please email 2STGD@vancouver.ca with your gender identity. Registration is not required, but it allows us to contact you in the event of a last-minute cancellation. In the event that more people arrive than the room capacity allows, registered participants will have priority over drop-ins.Online registration closes 2 hours before the program starts, but if the session does not display as "full", there are still spaces available for drop-in.If you have already registered and need to withdraw from the session with more than 24 hours notice, go to vanrec.ca, My Account, then Transaction and Payment History. To withdraw from the session with less than 24 hours before the program starts, email 2STGD@vancouver.ca. We appreciate your withdrawal efforts so we can open the spot for another participant!
