Embark on a global building adventure! In this immersive, week-long STEAM camp, kids will explore the fascinating world of vernacular and traditional architecture. Each day, campers will discover how communities around the world have designed homes using local materials, clever techniques, and sustainable practices—then bring those designs to life with their own hands. Campers will learn about the history, culture, and environmental wisdom behind each type of home, experiment with natural and recycled materials to build their models, and problem-solve like traditional builders—how to keep cool in the desert, stay warm in the Arctic, or withstand monsoon rains. By the end of the week, each camper will have a collection of traditional home models and a new appreciation for how architecture reflects culture, climate, and creativity. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity and love for hands-on building! This camp is perfect for future architects, interior designers, DIY enthusiasts, and anyone who loves to create and build their own world! Petit Architect has been inspiring young designers for 8 years by fostering creativity, problem-solving, and a love for design—empowering the next generation to shape the world around them. Please bring nut-free snacks, lunch and water, and be dressed and ready for the elements. We will go outside for breaks/lunch/games. No session Jul 1.
