What makes a city happy? In this imaginative STEAM camp, kids will become urban planners and architects for a week, designing their own Happy City—a place where people, nature, and fun come together! Campers will brainstorm what makes a city joyful: parks, playgrounds, bike paths, community gardens, or even ice cream shops, sketch and plan their ideal city layout, thinking about how to make it inclusive, green, and full of life, build a 3D model of their Happy City using recycled materials, cardboard, and craft supplies, problem-solve like real city planners—how to balance homes, schools, and fun spaces for everyone, and present their designs to the group and share their vision for a happier, healthier community. By the end of the week, each camper will leave with a model of their very own Happy City and a new appreciation for how design can create spaces that bring people together. No experience needed—just bring your creativity and big ideas! This camp is perfect for future architects, eco-champions, community builders, and anyone who loves to dream up better places for people to live and play! Petit Architect has been inspiring young designers for 8 years by fostering creativity, problem-solving, and a love for design—empowering the next generation to shape the world around them. Please bring nut-free snacks, lunch and water, and be dressed and ready for the elements. We will go outside for breaks/lunch/games.
