Description

This course is a shorter and simplified version of our Level 1 Basics course and it is a great starting course if you just want to give woodworking a try. You will learn the important basics such as the milling of rough lumber using the major power machines - the Jointer, Planer and Table saw. After this course you will have gained a better understanding of the material and how it challenges the maker. Project is a premium hardwood edge grain cutting board. Topics covered are as follows: 1: Introduction to lumber classification, grain and moisture related movement. 2: Shop and machine safety. 3: Power tool milling. 4: Basic assembly methods. 5: Bandsaw shaping and edge routing.
