This is a basic one day course offering lifesaving first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. This course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Certification lasts for 3 years with the Canadian Red Cross. Course content includes Preparing to Respond, Check, Call, Care, Airway Emergencies, Breathing & Circulation Emergencies, First Aid for Respiratory & Cardiac Arrest, CPR/AED level A or C, Small Wound Management, and Basic Medical emergency management. Leisure Access subsidy does not apply to one-day course/workshop programs. Parents/Guardians enrolling more than one of their children will need to provide a separate email for each child as Red Cross requires separate emails for certification purposes. Work groups in this course will be formed age appropriately.
