Description

Young players with some experience continue to develop their skills through high energy, game-based lessons that use the ½ stage of the progressive tennis model. An emphasis is placed on inspiring a love for the game while building strong technical foundation. .

Development Focus
  • Develop a love for tennis and sport in a positive environment.
  • Develop and integrate reception and projection skills for movement and tracking.
  • Develop full-motion groundstrokes with modern technique.
  • Develop cooperative and competitive rally skills.

Student Background
  • In the process of refining technique for groundstrokes.
  • In the process of developing correct movement and positioning.
  • Can rally consistently from service line or farther (¾ court or baseline).

Student Groupings
  • Students will be split into small groups based on age and skill.
  • Since 2012, Summer Smash Tennis has provided tennis programs and classes to community centres and schools across Vancouver. Our coaches are certified instructors who have worked with hundreds of students to inspire a passion for tennis and sport. We share a common goal of creating safe, fun and challenging learning environments for all students. Key Info
  • All students MUST print our activity waiver off from our website www.summersmashtennis.ca and bring a signed copy to the FIRST class.
  • All tennis lessons are taught by a Tennis Canada Certified Instructor and/or a BC Ministry Certified Teacher.
  • Students are expected to bring their own racquets to the lesson, and to come dressed in athletic clothing with athletic shoes.
  • Students are expected to bring water.
