Description
Guided by Indigenous Knowledge Keeper, Mimmigees E'Pit (Jennie Town), these free workshops help participants develop basic knowledge in tooling leather. Using metal stamps of different distinct shapes, you will learn how to cut and carve lines, grooves and patterns to press, stamp and punch into leather. Students will walk away with a leather bookmark that they have designed. Materials included. These workshops are a special offering and are open for registration on May 11.
These workdshops are inspired by The Canadian Library micro installation at the Clark Centre for the Arts created as a memorial to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Children. As part of the workshop, participants will be invited to wrap a hardcover book to include in this living art installation.
