Transform clothing into custom fitted pieces. You will learn how to do alterations such as repairs to torn clothing, reducing or increasing the size of a garment, lengthening or shortening sleeves, hems, replacing the lining in a jacket or coat, redesigning a garment, replacing a zipper, adding buttonholes and buttons, etc. Alterations for home décor will include lengthening and shortening drapery, making slip covers for chairs or small sofas and re-upholstering seat covers and pillows. This course is designed to teach to the strengths of the individual learner, beginners welcome. In house sewing machines available. Students must bring their own fabrics and notions. Materials list will be provided.
