Description

Tai Chi Chuan may be thought of as meditation in motion. Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong both promote serenity through gentle, flowing movements.

The intent is unifying mind and body to promote coordination and balance while opening the internal pathways of the body for living energy, Qi (pronounced Chee), to flow more freely. This in turn promotes calmness, relief from negative effects of stress and facilitates more positive overall wellness.

No Tai Chi experience necessary, but students must be mobile on feet unassisted and able to follow spoken directions.

Classes will consist of warm-up exercises, then detailed instruction on proper Tai Chi postures and techniques to be performed in the Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Short Form.

Student goals should be to learn and perform well the Tai Chi mini form called Tai Chi In A Box and the Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Short Form. Tai Chi Ball may also be taught in this class.

Although branded a Beginner class, this class will also benefit Advanced Tai Chi students in refreshing and refining techniques applied in the most advanced Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan.

No previous Tai Chi Chuan or Qigong experience is necessary.
