Description

In this class for youth and adults, participants will learn the difference between lifesaving and life guarding. Candidates will learn the principles of emergency care, teamwork and use of specialized equipment and the introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities.

Pre-requisites are:
  • Bronze Medallion
  • Emergency First Aid with CPR B or Standard First Aid with CPR C/AED - Please ensure that the certifying agency is one of the approved agencies for first aid prerequisites

Required Materials:
  • Canadian Lifesaving Manual
  • Bronze Cross Workbook
  • Whistle
Course materials are not included in the cost of the program. The Bronze Cross workbook can be purchased at time of checkout.

Reminders:

  • Attendance at exam is mandatory or candidate will be required to retake the full course.
  • Pre-requisites must be brought on the first day of class as well as to the exam. Candidates must bring in their original Bronze Medallion certification card and either Emergency First Aid with CPR B or Standard First Aid with CPR C/AED certification to the exam to participate.
  • NEW – All candidates presenting themselves at a Lifesaving Society course; original or recertification, must verify their identity to the instructor, examiner or trainer. Identification must be valid, include name, date of birth, and be issued by a government authority. Examples include Driver’s License, Health Card or Passport.   • Full attendance and participation increase chances of success in the program.
  • Aquatics Leadership Programs Refund Policy - Refunds will only be issued 14 days prior to the start of the program. No refunds will be issued after this time.
