Description

In this class participants (13 years & over) will understand the lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water rescue education - judgment, knowledge, skill and fitness. Rescuers learn tows and carries, as well as defense methods and releases in preparation for challenging rescues of increased risk involving conscious and unconscious victims of various types. Lifesavers develop stroke efficiency and endurance in a 500m timed swim.


Pre-requisites are: must be 13 years or completion of Bronze Star.

  • Canadian Lifesaving Manual
  • Bronze Medallion Workbook
Course materials are not included in the cost of the program. The Bronze Medallion material package can be purchased at time of checkout (includes Canadian Lifesaving Manual and Bronze Medallion Workbook).

Reminders:
  • Attendance at exam is mandatory or candidate will be required to retake the full course.
  • Pre-requisites must be brought on the first day of class as well as to the exam. Candidates must bring in their Bronze Star certification card or proof of age (passport or birth certificate) to the exam.
  • Full attendance and participation increase chances of success in the program.

  • Aquatics Leadership Programs Refund Policy - Refunds will only be issued 14 days prior to the start of the program. No refunds will be issued after this time.
NEW – All candidates presenting themselves at a Lifesaving Society course; original or recertification, must verify their identity to the instructor, examiner or trainer.

Identification must be valid, include name, date of birth, and be issued by a government authority. Examples include Driver’s License, Health Card or Passport.
