Description

Assumption of Risk

By engaging in ice skating, participants are deemed to have knowledge of and assume the inherent risks of skating, which include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Injuries that result from collisions or contact with other skaters
  • Injuries that result from slips, trips and falls.
  • Ice conditions that may change over the course of the session due to temperature and skater traffic.
1/2 of the ice surface will be designated to the Preschool Stick and Puck Program, while the other 1/2 will be available for Preschool Public Skate.

Preschool Stick and Puck to be set up Cross ice to help eliminate pucks from being shot over the center line.

Preschool Stick and Puck - Admission and Supervision Requirements
  • Children must be preschool aged (3-6 years)
  • Maximum two children per adult
  • Parents or caregivers must be 18 years of age or older and must always supervise their child on the ice.
  • Full hockey equipment and a CSA approved helmet is mandatory for children.
  • Adults are required to wear a helmet, gloves and skates.
  • Slapshots and organized games or practices are not permitted
  • Proof of payment (i.e. hand stamp) may be required prior to entering the ice surface.
  • Profanity and improper behaviour will not be permitted
  • Report all accidents or injuries to arena staff members immediately
  • No headsets, cellphones, or handheld electronic devices are to be used while skating.
  • All participants must wear skates while on the ice surface.
  • Alcoholic beverages, illegal substances, or anyone under the influence will not be permitted on the premises.
Preschool Public Skate - Admission and Supervision Requirements
  • Children must be preschool aged. (3 - 6 years)
  • Use of a CSA Approved helmet is strongly encouraged.
  • All children must be supervised on and off the ice by an adult.
  • Refrain from carrying children on the ice
  • Proof of payment (ie. hand stamp) may be required to enter the ice surface.
  • No food, drink, headsets, cellphones, or handheld electronic devices are permitted on the ice surface or players benches.
  • You must wear skates while on the ice surface.
  • Chairs, sleds, pylons, hockey sticks, pucks and other obstructions are not permitted on the ice surface.
  • Alcoholic beverages, illegal substances and anyone under the influence will not be permitted on the premises.
  • You must adhere to the directions of the arena staff members.
  • Report all accidents or injuries to arena staff members immediately.
  • Please skate at a sensible speed.
  • No horseplay is permitted.
  • No chain skating is permitted. No more than two people are permitted to hold hands.
  • Do not throw ice or snow.
  • Do not sit on the boards.
  • Profanity and improper behaviour are not permitted.
