Description
Renew Pool and Waterpark certifications in this one-day, evaluation-based session. Designed for current or recently expired National Lifeguard (NL) holders to have lifeguarding skills, knowledge and fitness standards assessed to maintain NL status in both environments. Lifeguards to be tested on ability to perform rescues, manage spinal injuries, demonstrate effective scanning and supervision techniques, and respond to emergencies in both pool and waterpark settings. Fitness standards, first aid proficiency and teamwork in aquatic emergency scenarios also evaluated. No instruction provided. This session is for assessment purposes only. Successful candidates earn renewed certification in both NL Pool and NL Waterpark to remain qualified to work in aquatic facilities across Canada. Pre-requisite: Previous National Lifeguard Pool and National Lifeguard Waterpark Certification. Recommended pre-requisite: Lifeguarding experience and current Standard First Aid.
