Description
Join artist instructor Kay Lee in this beginner-friendly workshop celebrating the beauty of Korean art and culture. Moon Jars were first created during Korea's Joseon Dynasty (1392–1910) and are admired for their simple, rounded form and timeless elegance. Today, they are cherished as symbolic objects representing new beginnings and positive energy, while also being loved as decorative pieces that inspire a warm, calming atmosphere.
During this class, participants will decorate a handcrafted Jesmonite Moon Jar using authentic Korean mother-of-pearl, then arrange dried florals to create a beautiful refillable diffuser. The finished piece can be displayed on a tabletop or hung on a wall as a unique decorative keepsake.
A $20 Material Fee, payable to the instructor is due at the beginning of the class.
The material kit includes the handcrafted Jesmonite Moon Jar, authentic Korean mother-of-pearl, dried florals, and diffuser materials. Participants will have use of the instructor’s tools during the workshop.

Kay Lee is an artist instructor dedicated to making cultural craft approachable and joyful. As the founder of byth8, she blends Korean-inspired design with modern materials like resin, Jesmonite, and wood to help participants create unique and meaningful pieces.
