Embrace the fresh start of Fall by creating a custom hand-painted tote bag inspired by the colours and textures of the season. During this hands-on workshop, you'll learn basic design principles, explore colour combinations, and discover simple techniques for painting on fabric while creating a tote bag that's uniquely your own. No experience is necessary.
Artist-instructor Kelly Arevalo will guide you through selecting an autumn-inspired design and adding decorative details to suit your personal style. You'll leave with a one-of-a-kind wearable art piece and the skills and confidence to continue customizing textiles at home.
Materials provided upon payment of a $10.00 fee to the instructor at the workshop, which includes the tote bag. All participants will have access to instructor-provided brushes, templates, and paints for the duration of the workshop.
Meet Your Instructor
Kelly Arevalo is a Richmond Hill-based creative practitioner and self-taught artist who is originally from El Salvador. She specializes in hand-painted wearable art, including hats, apparel, and accessories. Her creative practice focuses on storytelling, culture, identity, and self-expression. She enjoys creating welcoming spaces where participants can explore their creativity regardless of their artistic experience.
