Discover the art of crafting strikingly beautiful crêpe paper anemone flowers – a bold, dramatic bloom that bridges summer into fall. Crêpe paper is a uniquely textured, stretchable material that can be shaped and sculpted into lifelike forms. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to stretch and shape crêpe paper petals, build a striking, dark, contrasting center with fluffy stamens, and assemble a full anemone stem with leaves. Walk away with new skills you can use again and again, from statement centerpieces to elegant gift toppers. Suitable for beginners and those with some paper flower experience. All materials and step-by-step instructional handouts provided upon payment of $15.00 Materials Fee to instructor at the workshop. Please bring a pair of sharp scissors.

Meet Your Instructor
Jessie Chui is a sculptor and still life artist based in Mississauga. After a seven-year practice in family law, the death of a loved one, and the birth of her son, she embarked on a lifelong artistic journey exploring beauty, wonder, life, and death through floral expressions in three-dimensional forms and merging it with still life photography. Her work resides in private collections around the world. In addition to making art, Jessie is an instructor at Visual Arts Mississauga, the Aurora Cultural Centre, the City of Richmond Hill, and The Paper Place in downtown Toronto. She teaches students from around the world and through her online educational platform, Crafted to Bloom. She is the author of two best-selling books: Paper Flower Art: Create Beautifully Realistic Floral Arrangements (GMC Publications, 2019) and Paper Flowers (GMC Publications, 2022). She also co-hosts a podcast devoted to the art of paper flowers called Paper Talk. Her work has been published in numerous online and offline publications.
