Description
Skating is for everyone! Individuals with disabilities will have the opportunity to experience the benefits of skating and learn basic skating techniques in this specially designed program. Children will learn to skate at their own pace without the restrictions of a structured curriculum. This program is suitable for children with no prior instructional skating experience. Snow pants and gloves are strongly recommended. Ice skates and CSA-approved ice hockey helmets with a protective cage facemask are required. Parents/support persons are welcome to assist on the ice, and are also required to wear ice skates and a CSA approved ice hockey helmet.
Note, this is an adapted program specifically designed for participants with disabilities. If your child has not participated in one of our adapted programs before, please contact Inclusion Services at inclusion@richmondhill.ca before registering for this program.
All children must be able to participate in a 1:3 (staff:participant) ratio.
