Description

Discover the art of transforming photography into painterly expression. In this fun, hands-on one-day workshop, artist-instructor Nancy Falconi will guide you through transferring a floral photograph onto a wood panel, then enhancing it with translucent acrylic washes, gentle textures, and artistic detail. The result is a unique fusion of image and imagination – part photograph, part painting, all your own creation. Perfect for beginners and those looking to explore mixed media techniques. All tools and materials provided upon payment of $20.00 Materials Fee to instructor at workshop. Bring an old credit card you don’t mind getting messy, and a bagged lunch.

Nancy Falconi is a Toronto-based photographer and artist with an inspiring journey into creative expression. Initially starting out with a basic camera to capture moments with her family, Nancy discovered her passion for photography through small, transformative steps that eventually led to a successful career, represented by Getty Images and having her work featured in magazines such as Entrepreneur, Yoga Journal, and Canadian Living, reflecting her unique blend of artistry and connection with the natural world. She combines her photographic images with fine art painting mediums to create one of a kind mixed media paintings. With years of experience teaching art to beginners and those without prior drawing experience, Nancy empowers students to explore photography-based art as a means of self-expression. Her workshops guide students through the steps of image transfer and mixed media painting to build values, depth, and a painterly effect in their artwork. Nancy’s approach encourages students to create authentic, meaningful art while developing foundational skills in photography-based mixed media, making her classes accessible to anyone with a desire to connect with their creativity.
