Description

Do you want to kick-start your journey as a camp leader? This in-depth program provides teens with the leadership skills, confidence, and certifications needed to lead children’s recreation programs and summer camps.

What you’ll earn:

  • High Five Certification in the Principles of Healthy Child Development

  • Standard First Aid & CPR C Certificate (First Aid certification may take place outside camp hours (time TBD).

  • Up to 28 hours in camp placement

How it works: You’ll learn in the classroom, then jump into camp life, shadowing leaders, practicing activities, and leading the fun yourself.

Important to know:

  • Placement hours cannot be used as high school volunteer hours.

  • All placement hours must be completed.

  • 100% attendance is required to finish the course.

  • All participants will be required to complete a Swim To Survive training program. Date will be made aware to you on first date of program.

  • Participants must be 14 years old by the start of the program.

  • Placement can be at any community in Richmond Hill. Participants are responsible to find their own transportation to and from placement.

Upon successful completion you’ll be ready to step into the world of camp leadership with real experience, recognized certifications, and the confidence to lead!
