Description

This class explores the techniques and design principles used to create interesting wood-turned boxes. Topics include ways to hold the wood, lid fitting, inlay turning and fitting, wood orientation, and developing pleasing forms. Instruction will emphasize tool technique, proper tool sharpening, lathe safety, and the effective use of various turning tools. A materials fee is payable to the instructor at the start of the class. Prerequisite: completion of a previous bowl turning class.
