Description

Learn how to draw a portrait using charcoal! In the morning learn how to approach drawing a portrait from a photo reference. In the afternoon, practice what you’ve learned on a model! There will be demonstrations/lectures throughout the day by the instructor and supervision/guidance throughout the class. Materials to Bring: 1. Charcoal - Ideally ‘medium or soft’ Vine Charcoal. 2. White charcoal pencil. 3. Drawing Paper - 14x17 size or larger. 4. Kneaded Eraser. 5. OPTIONAL/(or if you cannot find the above materials) - compressed charcoal, Nitram charcoal, willow charcoal or charcoal pencil; 18x24 size newsprint; tombow fine point eraser; blending stump/tortillon) * Most of these materials can be found at Michael’s, Strathmore or Canson brand drawing paper is recommended.
