Description

Learn how to draw a portrait using charcoal! Every participant will complete a charcoal portrait drawing within the 2.5-hour class. There will be approximately 20-30 min of demonstration/lecture by the instructor and supervision/guidance throughout the class. The participants will be provided with a reference to draw chosen for specific learning goals that day. Materials to Bring: 1. Charcoal - Ideally ‘medium or soft’ Vine Charcoal. 2. White charcoal pencil. 3. Drawing Paper - 14x17 size or larger. 4. Kneaded Eraser. 5. OPTIONAL/(or if you cannot find the above materials) - compressed charcoal, Nitram charcoal, willow charcoal or charcoal pencil; 18x24 size newsprint; tombow fine point eraser; blending stump/tortillon) * Most of these materials can be found at Michael’s, Strathmore or Canson brand drawing paper is recommended.
