Set in the beautiful gardens at Billings Estate, this hands-on workshop invites participants to create a birchbark keychain featuring a beginner-friendly quillwork design with the guidance of Anishinaabe artist Christine Toulouse. Along the way, you’ll learn how porcupine quills are prepared, dyed, and applied, as well as the cultural significance of this traditional art form. A guided tour of the special exhibition, “Beyond the Brim: Tales Told Through the Hats We Wore,” and light refreshments are included.
