Description

Forge your own piece of history! This hands-on introduction to blacksmithing offers a meaningful learning experience, guided closely by a skilled artisan from Cumberland Heritage Village Museum. During the workshop, participants will learn fundamental skills including drawing out, bending, punching, drifting and twisting. After testing your new skills by making a square nail, you’ll heat, hammer and shape a 3/8” square stock into a wall hook with a decorative twist perfect for hanging coats, tools or kitchenware. Prior experience is not required. Program supplies are included in the cost of registration; light refreshments will be served.
