Description
Originating in Japan, kurinuki is a way of creating vessels by hollowing out a block of clay, then shaping and texturing the exterior, emphasizing the clay’s sculptural potential and natural beauty. Participants will make cups or small bowls and a box. All 3 classes will be spent on building and surface treatment. Because of the time limited nature of the mini-series, glaze will be applied by the instructor as necessary after bisque firing.
