Description
Join Ghazal M, from NVRC Artist Residency Program, for a fun family day in a hands‑on creative workshop that combines traditional collage‑making with augmented reality. We will let our creative compositions leap off the page and into a whole new dimension! In this family-friendly collage + Augmented Reality inspiration workshop at the John Braithwaite Community Centre, we will team up to design colorful collages inspired by local landmarks, personal stories, and favourite characters. After exploring sample augmented‑reality collage animations to spark imaginative ideas, participants will craft their artworks with photos, magazine clippings, and found objects. While participants don’t need to animate anything themselves, they will experience how digital overlays can add movement and interactivity to static art. No previous art or tech experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!
Following the workshop, the instructor will select 3–5 collages to transform into playful Augmented Reality animations, which will be showcased to the public in the community centre’s gallery space in the following weeks.
This workshop is designed for children aged 5–13 and their guardians. Children aged 5–8 must be accompanied by a guardian, while those 8 and older are welcome to participate independently.
