Bitez & Vibez is a presentation focusing on mental health and addictions among Black youth. It provides medical information and information about community supports while helping youth feel comfortable identifying and addressing mental health and substance use concerns. The presentation explores barriers, including discrimination and racism, that Black youth may face and how these barriers impact their wellbeing. I provide coping strategies, treatment options, and harm reduction information in a relatable and nonjudgmental way. This presentation demonstrates a culturally responsive approach that acknowledges and validates the Black youth experience.
