Description
The Skills Builders Adventure Club is a program offered in partnership with LDAYS (Learning Disabilities Association of York Simcoe), a structured social development program designed to support children with learning disabilities and ADHD in building the skills, confidence, and self-awareness needed to develop meaningful friendships and navigate everyday social situations. Through engaging fun group activities, guided discussions, and role-playing, participants learn practical strategies to improve communication, emotional regulation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and self-advocacy. Delivered in a supportive small-group environment, children have opportunities to practice social skills with peers, receive guidance and feedback, and build confidence in their ability to interact positively with others.
By participating in the Skills Builders Adventure Club, children gain real-life practice interacting with peers, improving their ability to form friendships, handle challenging social situations, and feel more confident in school and community settings.
