Description
The National Lifeguard course emphasizes the lifeguarding skills, principles and practices, and the decision-making processes that will assist the lifeguard to provide effective safety supervision in swimming pool environments. This program is not subsidy eligible. Must have taken Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid.
The National Lifeguard course emphasizes aquatic industry standards, accident prevention, decision-making processes and rescue skills designed to prepare new lifeguards to safely supervise in swimming pool environments.
This is a 44-hour course which requires study and assignment completion outside of class time. This course is worth 2 grade 12 high school credits. This program is not eligible for City subsidy.
Prerequisites: Must be 15 years of age or older, hold a Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid Certificate.
