Swimmer 8

Swimmer 8 teaches swimmers lifesaving sport skills that include a lifesaving sport medley, timed object support and a non-contact rescue with a floating aid. They'll build on their individual fitness, strokes and kicking skills. Swimmers will master their stride entries and underwater somersaults both forward and backward. First aid skills include conducting a primary assessment on an unconscious victim and treatment of an obstructed airway. Prerequisite: Completion of Swimmer 7 (Rookie Patrol).
