Description
This program is designed for girl participants with a woman instructor. The pool area and viewing areas will be restricted to women/girls only (except in an emergency). Men/ boys have access to common areas hallways and office areas. This program is taught at a 3 to 1 ratio. These intermediate swimmers master shallow dives, tuck jump entries, eggbeater kick, and in-water backward somersaults. They'll refine their front and back crawl over 50 m swims of each, and breaststroke over 25 m. Then they'll pick up the pace in 25 m sprints and two interval training bouts: 4 x 25 m front or back crawl; and 4 x 15 m breaststroke. Recommended completed Swim For Life 6. Class Length: 30 min. Please note: Due to a revised safety standard, the diving skills in Learn to Swim levels 5 and higher will not be taught at the Frank McKechnie, River Grove, and South Common pools beginning.
