Description
This program provides comprehensive training covering all aspects of first aid , CPR and AED. Standard First Aid incorporates all of Emergency First Aid and is designed for those who require a more in-depth understanding of first aid including: legal implications of first aid treatment, spinal injuries, heat and cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, abdominal and chest injuries, burns and medical emergencies.
Materials: Canadian First Aid Manual is required and can be purchased at a community centre.
Course Length: 16 hrs.
NEW - Proof of Identity: Lifesaving Society requires all candidates taking this course—whether for the first time or as a recertification—to verify their identity on the first day.
Acceptable forms of ID. Candidates must present valid and current government-issued photo identification that includes their name and date of birth. Acceptable forms of ID include:
- Driver’s license,
- Passport, health card (with photo),
- Permanent resident card,
- Citizenship card,
- Certificate of Indian Status, or
- Ontario Photo Card.
Note: If a candidate cannot provide one of these, they may instead present a birth certificate or health card (even without a photo), along with a
completed attestation from someone 18 or older—such as a parent or guardian with their acceptable form of ID. (Listed above)
Please remember to bring proof of your prerequisite certifications and valid photo identification on the first day of the course. Unfortunately, without these documents, you won’t be able to continue in the course.
