Description
This is an advanced skating program which requires a certain level of skating skill. Instruction is provided in power development, power strides, starting, stopping, lateral mobility and power drills. Skills taught in this program include balance, agility and coordination. This is an excellent opportunity to increase your skating skills. A CSA- approved hockey helmet is MANDATORY for this program. This is an advanced skating class for individuals that have a desire to improve their speed and skating skills. T
This is NOT a Learn to Skate class. Participants must be able to skate forwards with a high degree of proficiency, successfully do crossovers, be able to stop quickly, effortlessly skate backwards, glide on one foot in a straight line for approximately 10 ft., turn in both directions with a high degree of skill and have great balance on the ice to be successful in the program.
Please note that on the first day of classes, participants will be assessed to determine if they are a suitable fit for the program.
