Description
National Lifeguard (40 hours) is designed to develop a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment and a mature and responsible attitude toward the role of the lifeguard. The course develops the basic lifeguarding skills, principles and decision-making processes that will assist the lifeguard to evaluate and adapt to different aquatic facilities and emergencies. This course is approximately 45 hours and 100% attendance is mandatory. This course is both physically and mentally demanding, requiring candidates to perform physical standards and respond to pool situations.
Prerequisites:
- Candidates must be 15 years of age by the last day of the course
- Hold Standard First Aid w/ CPR C certification (does not need to be current)
- Hold a Bronze Cross certification (Bronze Cross does not need to be current)
