Active Play Club

The After-school Active Play Club provides a unique opportunity for Grade 1 to 5 children to engage in unstructured play on their school grounds after the school day ends. Under the light supervision of an adult, children are free to explore, create, and interact, fostering their physical, social, and emotional development.

The goal is to let kids be kids: run around, play, learn about themselves, their friends, and the world around them. After-School Play Clubs will help children move more, socialize and lessen their screen time. Children will meet their Active Play Leader in the Gym.

How to register

Choose the sessions that work best for your family. Register online, in-person or by phone at one of the following recreation facilities:

  • Timms Community Centre 604.514.2940
  • Douglas Recreation Centre 604.514.2865
  • Al Anderson Memorial Pool 604.514.2860

The program runs two hours after-school and includes a snack. Weekly registration is available during the program trial. Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and this program often fills up quickly. Registration numbers will be reviewed the week before each operational week. If minimum registration is not met, adjustments may be made to staffing and/or program offering.
