Description

This course is inspired by the traditional art of Lippan Kaam (also known as Mud and Mirror Art), a beautiful, tactile craft that combines clay relief work, intricate mirror placement, and geometric or nature-inspired patterns. The process is highly meditative, completely beginner-friendly, and results in stunning textured pieces. Lippan Kaam originated in the Kutch region of Gujarat, India, where it has been practiced for generations by local artisan communities, particularly the Rabari, Mutwa, and Meghwal communities. Traditionally used to decorate the walls of homes, this distinctive folk art celebrates craftsmanship, culture, and creativity.
