Sensory Friendly Lane & Leisure Swim

Sensory Friendly Lane and Leisure Swim offers a quieter, more comfortable aquatic experience for participants who benefits from reduced sensory input. This swim time is designed for individuals of all ages looking for a quieter swim and calmer pool environment.

During this program, the aquatic environment is adjusted to help reduce over stimulation. This may include no direct music played, no use of whistles (except for emergencies), and fewer participants in the pool. Both lane swimming and leisure swimming are offered in the 25 meter pool, allowing participants to choose the activity that best suits their comfort level and abilities.

Forest Heights Pool is equipped with adaptive lifejackets, water wheelchairs, a ramp into the pool, and an adult change table located in the universal changeroom. Pool related Picture Exchange Communications System (PECS) will also be available in a waterproof format if needed.
