Butterfly Count

Do you know how to identify butterflies? Want to learn? The Kitchener Natural Areas Program is hosting a butterfly count on Wednesday, July 8th from 9-11AM at the Huron Natural Area. We will be learning about the importance of butterflies as pollinators and biological indicators and then surveying them in the meadow. Participants will learn how to conduct an ecological survey and identify butterflies. This event is family-friendly and will be conducted outdoors. Please come dressed in close-toed shoes, long pants tucked into socks, a sunhat, and bring water.
