Description
Evening Yin Yoga with Nicole
Evening Yin Yoga is a slow, grounding practice designed to gently awaken the body and support overall health and mobility. This class is suitable for all levels, including beginners, and focuses on long-held, passive poses that target the deeper connective tissues such as fascia, ligaments, and joints.
In Yin yoga, poses are practiced close to the ground and held for several minutes with the support of props like bolsters and blocks. By relaxing the muscles and allowing gravity to gently load the tissues, Yin yoga helps maintain joint health, improve flexibility, and support healthy aging. This slow approach encourages hydration of the fascia and helps counterbalance the stiffness that can build up from repetitive movement or prolonged sitting.
We begin with breath awareness to calm the nervous system and ease the body into movement. Slow, mindful breathing supports circulation, reduces stress, and helps regulate the nervous system—an especially beneficial way to start the day feeling steady and clear.
The practice moves through a full-body Yin sequence with an emphasis on the hips, spine, and lower body. These areas are key for mobility, posture, and balance. Long holds allow time for the body to respond naturally, helping release tension while building body awareness and patience.
The class closes with a short meditation or resting pose to support mental clarity and emotional balance, leaving you feeling grounded, centered, and prepared for the day ahead. Morning Yin Yoga is a nourishing complement to more active practices and a powerful tool for stress reduction, joint care, and long-term wellbeing.
