From Surviving to Thriving: Clint Malarchuk’s Story of Mental Health and Resilience
What happens when the person everyone sees as strong is struggling on the inside?
Former NHL goaltender and mental health advocate Clint Malarchuk knows that journey firsthand. After surviving a horrific, life-threatening injury on the ice in 1989, Clint appeared to recover physically—but behind the scenes, he was facing a battle with PTSD, depression, alcoholism and, ultimately, a suicide attempt.
Today, Clint uses his experience to help others understand that mental health struggles can affect anyone—and asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Through his powerful and deeply personal story, Clint will share what he has learned about resilience, vulnerability, recovery and breaking the stigma around mental health.
