Youth Ops Programs are designed for youth who want to make a positive impact in their communities while building confidence and leadership skills through fun, engaging, and hands-on experiences. These programs are intended for youth ages 12–16 who have completed Grade 7.
Opportunities vary by location, but participants can expect to:
• Volunteer alongside recreation staff to support safe, inclusive, and engaging programs
• Take part in interactive training sessions that develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
• Connect with peers through social and team-building activities
• Gain meaningful experience by participating in community initiatives and special events
The program at GRSCC will include volunteering, training and social opportunities for youth. Days/times and commitment will vary. Please note: No class Monday Oct 12/26. Monday evenings focus on training modules and planning for community events. Thursday evenings include homework help, social time and opportunity to be active in the gym. Participants in the program will have the chance to volunteer in our children's programs and host seasonal events for the community. Program times are Mondays 5:00-7:30 pm and Thursdays 5:30-8:00 pm.
